Rahul Jayaraman

Klarman Fellow

Overview

Rahul Jayaraman is an incoming Klarman Fellow working with Professor Anna Ho on multi-wavelength searches for fast transients using the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and other large-scale sky surveys, including LSST/Rubin and the Zwicky Transient Facility. He earned his PhD in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked with Dr. George Ricker on detecting and characterizing transients using TESS, with a focus on prompt optical emission from gamma-ray bursts. He also has experience in tidal asteroseismology and binary modeling using TESS data. Outside of astrophysics, Rahul loves to climb, watch long-form YouTube videos, and grow his collection of model airplanes.
