Overview
I am a first-year PhD student working with Prof. Anna Ho on collapsar phenomenology, connecting stellar evolution models and numerical jet simulations to observational data.
I've previously worked on a range of topics in high-energy astrophysics. During my undergraduate degree, I worked with Prof. Andrei Beloborodov and Dr. Valentin Skoutnev on chiral dynamos in proto-neutron stars, investigating how the chiral magnetic effect (CME) amplifies magnetic fields in the dense, neutrino-rich environment shortly after core collapse. I developed an analytic scaling for the maximum magnetic field strength at saturation with the neutronization rate and verified it with numerical simulations in Dedalus. For my master's thesis at Cambridge, I worked with Prof. Henrik Latter and Dr. David Hosking on the effect of the heat-flux buoyancy instability on heat transport in the intracluster medium of galaxy clusters. I used analytic and numerical methods to first characterize the linear growth of the instability, before determining its 2D and 3D saturation modes across different buoyancy stratifications and magnetic field orientations. I've also worked on multiwavelength modeling of tidal disruption events in the presence of dust obscuration with Prof. Vikram Ravi and Dr. Jean Somalwar, and polarized imaging of supermassive black holes for the Next Generation Event Horizon Telescope (ngEHT) with Dr. Lindy Blackburn.
I received my BA in Physics and Mathematics from Columbia University in 2025, where I was an undergraduate representative on the Physics Community Committee and on the boards of student organizations for outreach in physics and astronomy. I also volunteered with Reading Team Math, where I worked on numerical literacy skills with kindergarteners at a Harlem after-school program. In 2026, I received my MASt in Astrophysics from the University of Cambridge, supported by Trinity College's Sheepshanks Studentship in Astronomy.
Outside of science, I'm an avid musician across several styles (ask me about my favorite composer, bandleader, or sad-girl indie singer). I also enjoy dancing, playing mediocre tennis, running, and generally touching grass.
